EFFECTIVE COLOUR IN WATERCOLOUR PAINTING with Ian Mackay
Saturday, February 28, 2015, 10am – 4:30pm
Workshop Fee: $95.00 (includes HST)
Location: Barry Coombs Studio, 224-15 Adrian Avenue, Toronto
Colour is the heart and soul of watercolour painting. It influences our emotions and moods. To give colour its full voice, an artist must have an understanding of the basic theories and techniques of colour mixing. Effective use of colour enhances luminosity, core and cast shadows, and atmospheric brilliance.
If you would like to give your paintings the expressive power of colour harmony then this workshop is for you. Through simple watercolour painting exercises, the workshop participant will learn and apply colour fundamentals and develop skills in mixing secondaries, tertiaries, chromatic grays and blacks. Everyday practical painting challenges will be discussed such as choosing the right colours to mix shadows and harmonizing colour throughout a painting with a focus on backgrounds.
This workshop is designed primarily for watercolourists but will benefit those working in other painting media.
To enroll for this workshop, contact Ian directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. Directions and a material list will be provided upon enrollment.
